***BETA***

As you can see, we are in beta testing. We need your help! We started this site because of a need that we thought would help every WOW player. We’ve managed to put this site up rather quickly because we want to be able to use it to help us play better and more efficiently. We’ve built as much “core” functionality as we thought necessary for people to be able to use, but we need your comments and suggestions to make it more useful to every WOW player. Please report any defects and suggestions to our feedback forum.

* We want your feedback so bad that we’ve put a contest together. Please see contest rules.

How it Started

wowtwitter was started by a few players that wanted a simple way to communicate while playing different characters in the World of Warcraft.

Dan's main was a tank on Dark Iron and it was getting hard for him to communicate with friends like John, Jay and Matt because he was often working on an alt. If Dan happened to be playing an alt on Dark Iron then his friends could see him on their friends list. But the problem was that he was often playing alts on Uther, Ner'Zhul and Spinebreaker. There was no way for these friends to keep track of each other when they were on different servers.

If only there were a way for these friends to let each other know which character they were playing, or even just let each other know generally what they're up to. So they thought about using twitter, a website that let's you keep track of what YOU are doing in real time. At first it seemed to work out ok as long as they were tweeting about their ingame experiences. But twitter is about what YOU are doing, not just what your character is doing. So the updates would included stuff like going to the supermarket, watching the game on TV, catching the latest movie, etc.

So it wasn't the perfect solution but it was close. If only there were a twitter like website that would let you tweet from your World of Warcraft character so that only updates about your CHARACTER mattered, that would be perfect!

Since there was no such website a few of the friends decided to create it. And that's how wowtwitter was born. We hope that you find this a useful website. If you have any questions or comments please don't hesitate to contact us
