Beta Contest Rules and FAQ
Contest Dates:
May 18, 2009 – June 30, 2009
How to Enter:
It's easy. Simply register for a wowTwitter.com account and add a character or characters and start sending message updates. By registering you'll be automatically entered into the Beta Contest.
How do I win?
The user with the most points at the end of the contest wins. Points will be given based on the following:
- 10 points per verified character
- 1 point per non-spam tweet
The winner will be selected by the staff of wowTwitter.com based upon the point system mentioned above. Decisions made by the staff at wowTwitter.com are final - no substitutions will be available.
What do I win?
A cash prize of $100 will be given to the account owner with the most points at the end of the contest.
*In accepting the prize, the winner acknowledges that Taxes on prize is the sole responsibility of the winner.
Official Rules:
- To Enter: Log on to www.wowtwitter.com and register for a new account. Upon registering, add characters and start using the update messaging feature for each character. Once registered, you will be automatically entered into the “Beta Contest” for a chance to win a cash prize of $100.
- Judging: Each eligible entry will be judged upon use of wowTwitter.com and the point system outlined here. Points: 10 points per verified character; 1 point per non-spam tweet. The eligible points will stop being distributed at 11:59:00pm PST June 30, 2009. Submissions of tweets (messages) will be judged on validity of content and determination of spam (sending of unsolicited bulk messages indiscriminately). Submissions can be disqualified if the submission either subjects the submitter or wowTwitter.com to legal jeopardy or compromises wowTwitter.com’s good will and reputation, intellectual property or trade secret interests. This includes words or imagery that are sexually charged or suggestive, that depict acts of violence or cruelty, that attack or disparage or present in a false light any individual or group of people, that are otherwise vile, nasty or otherwise uncivil.
- Eligibility: The contest is open to legal residents of the U.S. who are at least 18 years of age at the time of entry. Employees of wowTwitter.com and their respective affiliates and members of their immediate families are not eligible. Eligible contestants must have a PayPal account. There must be at least 250 eligible contestants in order for a winner to be declared. Void in Puerto Rico, and where prohibited by law or regulation. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
- Winner Notification: Winners will be notified on or about July 10, 2009 by wowTwitter.com. Potential prize winners will be notified by e-mail to the address provided during entry. Potential winner response to their email notifications must be received within 7 days of receipt, or will be disqualified. If a response to the email notification is not received within those 7 days, an alternate winner will be selected. If prize notification is not responded to or any prize is released as undeliverable, prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate. Entering an incorrect or incomplete e-mail address in the registration process, or failing to meet the eligibility requirements above, will result in contest disqualification. By accepting any prize, the winner grants wowTwitter.com the right to use his/her entry, name, likeness and biographical information in any and all media for advertising/promotional purposes. Entrants agree to the release of their name, address, and e-mail information to wowTwitter.com for posting and winner notification purposes, only; otherwise, please review this Site's privacy policy for more information on how we use any personal data we collect from you.
- Prizes: One (1) Grand Prize: $100 US Dollars. Taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner.
- Limitation of Liability: wowTwitter.com is not responsible for late, lost, stolen, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, or illegible entries; or entries that are lost due to computer, Internet, or electronic malfunction. wowTwitter.com reserves the right to cancel or modify contest and award the prize through an alternate means if fraud or technical failure compromises the integrity of the contest, as determined by wowTwitter.com in its sole discretion. Entrants agree that wowTwitter.com and their respective employees or officers shall not be liable for injury, losses, damages, or costs of any kind resulting from participation in this contest or acceptance of or use or misuse of a prize or parts thereof. By entering, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an electronic entry, the entry will be deemed to be submitted by the person in whose name the e-mail account is registered.
